Workin' out Ghetto-Style with a tight budget

I know most people have a completely stocked home gym in their spare bedroom and can therefore save some brain cells from reading the rest of this post.

Wait....what's that you say?

You are barely scraping by with enough cash to shove some EZ Mac and box wine in your face hole and pass out?

I hear ya sista. I hear ya.

So what is a classy lady to do to stay in shape on a budget?

Get Creative!

Now I must admit, I AM draining a bit of my valued "fun money" and have purchased two kettlebells, one 20 and one 30 pound. While I wait for those babies to be dropped at my doorstep......I improvise.

These are what I used this morning to work. it. out.

This picture is of terrible quality....sorry.

The picture is appaling, but you get the idea.

The items are:
- A BATHROOM RUG- folded in half to not only save my knees, but for sliding purposes in certain exercises.

- 15 POUND CONTAINER OF DOG FOOD- for added weight during squats and such.

- CUBE SEAT- The last remaining one from our table set. Remember when I introduced you to one of my two retarded dogs, Burn, in THIS post? So yea....he destroyed the other three and I held on to this coveted last one. I use this for step-ups, one leg squats, elevated push-ups, and butt exercises to name a few.

- And of course, my WEIGHTED BOXING GLOVES. Each one is three pounds and sometimes I even strap them to my ankles. They were purchased over a year ago for a boxing class I was taking at the Y.

These 4 items allowed me to effectively kick my own ass at 5am today.

Take a look around your home today and see what you could use for FREE to continue your fitness journey.

Do you have a chair or bench somewhere?
Perfect! Step up and down on that shit a million times. Hang your ass off of it and do some pushups or mountain climbers.  Jump over it for cardio. Kick over it for leg conditioning.

Do you have a gallon of something in your fridge or something else that is heavier and not too cumbersome to hold?
Wonderful! Lift that shit up or squat with it a million and one times.
Pets and babies work as well if they aren't too squirmy!

Do tricep dips from the edge of that bench, or bathtub ledge!
Hoist your ass up on two adjacent countertops in your kitchen and do some dips!
Run up and down any stairs in your house without falling!

And the list goes on.....so in conclusion?

Forget about money, get creative, and get fit!!!
