CrashandBurnGraphics. The new Etsy shop.
Both of these are a labor of love for the past few months and I am so very excited to present both of them to you. While you are perusing the new website, be sure to click on all the new buttons and gadgetry.
Not to brag, but I learned a lot in the process regarding coding and pretty-fying your blog (and don't worry, there will be another giveaway for blog design coming soon).
Hands on, Pants off is how I choose to live my life. I am not your typical girly girl. One of those ladies that worries about breaking a nail or what not. I like to get my hands dirty. I like to say I accomplished it.
I did it.
I get a huge sense of pride to mold something with my own hands and watch it grow, or develop, or blossom into something better.
But I like to be comfortable doing it.
There is nothing better than giving 110% of your day, stepping through the front door of my house, and whipping off my pants. And my bra for that matter.
Pants are the worst.
I encourage you to follow along on the next chapter of my life. What I'm up to. How my dogs are doing. How Bayou (the husband) is driving me insane. The usual.
Now, about the Etsy shop. Crash and Burn Graphics grew from a small incident a few months ago where I was having a pity party and inviting all who would listen to me complain about how hard I had it. How unfair life was. Boo to me. I was down in the dumps, depressed, not doing or making anything of myself.
And as I was traveling home from an evening out, it snowed far more than most people expected. I noticed ahead of me a car in the distance, spun out on the side of the road. I slowed down (mind you I drive an H2 with tow straps, it's basically my DUTY to see what was going on). The guys needed help. I hesitated, but sprung into action. In those 30 minutes it took to free them from the dirt and muck in the ditch, I became selfless. Focused only on the task at hand. Doing good. Making a difference, regardless of how small.
The small deed inspired me to look into what I could do on a more regular basis, even though my schedule is already jam packed. I like to consider myself an animal rights activist. My heart bleeds for the voiceless. I thought, what if I could help by raising money to shelters?
My mind immediately came to Animal House Shelter. This no-kill shelter, located in Huntley, IL, is very near and dear to my heart. My husband and his family helped to build the facility many years ago. I signed up as a volunteer, but never seemed to find the time to dedicate myself to the cause.
What they do for cats and dogs...the time, money, effort, and dedication they give is epic. I am in awe of what they do. And I want to help.
So I launched CrashandBurnGraphics on Etsy. I make custom pet prints for your home, that can be frammable, based on your very own fur babies. 25% of every order goes to AHS. This way, I get to flex my graphic design skills, you get the cutest little print your heart could ever desire, and we all get to help dogs and cats find good homes. It's a win-win if you ask me.
