Entryway Upgrade....so far

2014 started with me spending a couple hundred dollars on paint and accesories for our entryway.
My brain has been buzzing since before we moved in on how I would upgrade this room.
I took to Pinterest for inspiration...obvi...and found some fun ideas for paint colors and stenciling.

Now, it's not done. But the bulk of my weekends between January 1 and today has been taping, painting, rolling, more taping, measuring, leveling, stenciling, adjusting and re-adjusting my work.

This was the process:

Hot Yoga

Let's talk about it.

I do it. I heart it. I want to get better at it.

But I only get to go once a week because I'm busy as shit and that class is hella long.
Plus, it seems to be defeating the point if I am stressing out about making another yoga class when I am supposed to be all namaste and shit.

Anyways.
I chose Hot Yoga for three reasons:

A change is in the air....or blog

Good morning.
I don't know if it's due to the -40 degree temps last week, but walking to work today, it almost seemed....dare I say, normal?
Mind you the high is only 20.

The sun is shining and it's time to turn over a new leaf.
I am counting down the days until Spring.
New Year, new ideas, new hopes...all that garbage.

I am still in the midst of my DIY home facelift.
It's a slow process, but knowing my parents will be coming over in a couple weeks for dinner has given me enough motivation to keep moving forward.

The snow has melted just enough that I can see our pool again, or, at least, the cover.
And I catch myself staring longingly out the frosty window wondering what it will be like to jump in the deep end for the first time.

You can do it....all night long

So....January seems to be the month that errbody is upgrading their home in some way.
And I just love a trend so I hopped on that damn train.
And I was all, "I'm totally going to have a company come in and just do it for me"
..............
until I looked at my bank account and realized not only do I still have Christmas gift debt, but I actually don't have thousands of additional dollars at my disposal.

Ha....who am I kidding.  Just because you get a big boy house doesn't mean you get the payroll to go with it!

I knew there would be work, I suppose I was just secretly hoping it would just be done and I could go on with my life.
